After 2014 Miss America winner Nina Davuluri, Sapna Raghavan has become the second Indian-American to feature in “Miss America’s Outstanding Teen pageant."

As per the reports, a Connecticut resident Raghavan, age 17, who was crowned with the title of “Miss Connecticut’s Outstanding Teen 2015” in June of this year. She is now reportedly going to participate in the prestigious Miss America Pageant.

After winning the Miss Connecticut pageant title, it turned out to be an opportunity for Sapna Raghavan to contest in “Outstanding Teen 2015” a pageant which is open for the teenagers aged between 13 and 17.

As per the sources, she did not only win the competition but she was also awarded with a $1,000 scholarship for participating in a Bollywood-themed dance.

Now Sapna is also eligible to contest in the Miss America pageant, a beauty competition that is open to the age group of 18-25.

On this Sapna was quoted saying, it is an option for me but right now I am focusing on my Bharatnatyam dance and applying to colleges. Raghavan is a student of Ellington High School in Connecticut and also very well known ambassador to an international non-profit organization Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

She also stated, she wants to work with the United Nations and wants to continue to shape her career in Bharatnatyam.
Reportedly; she is also a member of the “Developing Positive Youth Culture” group in Ellington, which strives for the well being of the youths in the community.
