India’s largest online retail company Flipkart on Tuesday launched a new feature called “Ping” in its mobile app which would help users enhance their shopping experience.

The new feature will make the app size go up by about 2MB. With this new app you can share images, wish-lists and also can chat with your friends while shopping.

Flipkart chief product officer Punit Soni said, “Ping app makes the online shopping more easy, as it helps the user to talk and discuss with their friends before buying the product. To make the application more interactive, Flipkart is planning to include sellers in the chat.”

“Flipkart has 50 million users and about 70 per cent of them shop through its mobile app. Since 2007, we have noticed that 41 per cent of India’s e-commerce happens on mobile. There are more people buying low cost android devices and when they buy that - messaging and buying are the prime things they do.”- added Soni.
