Assam flood has turned out to be a worst disaster of the time and is tremendously causing severe destruction. Around 4.64 lakh people's life has been claimed in danger in town and more than 1,000 villages has resulted into destruction. A total no. of 662 villages
submerged in Dhemaji district.

According to the Assam State Disaster Management Authority; the situation was critical in Dhemaji, Dibrugarh and Tinsukia districts in eastern Assam. In last two days more than 700 villages submerged. They also stated; that around one lakh hectares of crop land
are under water.

As per the reports from ASDMA, they are still investigating about the five people who were droned away with the flood waters. Rescuers were present in all affected areas.

All the educational institutions in Dhemaji, Lakhimpur and Dibrugarh have been shut by the authorities. Rivers which have risen over the mark include, Puthimari and Beki in Karimganj District. Jia Bharali is also flowing at a high level at Sonitpur.

Adiministration has stopped the ferry service between Nematighat and the river island Majuli and the reason was the rising level of Brahmaputra in Johrat.
