IPL is planning to have two new teams for the next series and cash-rich tournament, which could be a 10 team battle from 2018, IPL governing council member says on Thursday.
Council meet on Thursday evening at city 5 star hotel made dual endorsement to the board of control for cricket in India's working committee.
This recommendation were made in the setting of Justice Lodha committee earlier this year, who suggests a two years ban on two teams - Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) - from the tourney concern with the spot fixing and betting scandals that highlighted cash-rich T20 tournament in 2013.
"We have recommended the working committee to look over two new teams for the next edition and after two years when ban will dismissed from CSK and Rajasthan Royals can again reform into a 10 team affair", said governing council member who spoke on the condition of anonymity.
The IPL governing council meeting was a whispering matter along with no media person being involved in the hotel itself.
