PM Narendra Modi delivered a speech to the nation live from the Red Fort, as India celebrates its 69th Independence Day. This was PM Modi’s second speech from Red Fort, as last year also he addressed the nation on Independence Day.

PM Modi paid a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Raj Ghat early morning and reached Red Fort around 7.20am where Union ministers like Arun Jaitley, Sushma Swaraj and Ravi Shankar Prasad were already present at the Red Fort.

Modi has become the first PM for delivering speeches at public which is become his signature way of addressing and to connect with the masses at large. This year PM Modi has highlighted some of the ideas given by the public through a government website, as the website received around 12,000 ideas and suggestion from the public.

Last year, PM Modi spoke about to end bureaucratic rivalry which helps in cohesive action, women dignity, manufacturing etc. This year PM Modi was expected to give away a growth-oriented economic agenda and point out the key policies which helped progressing areas of social, health, agriculture and economy and also implement new policies which could help improve these areas.

Source revealed that, according to the terror attacks experienced in Punjab and Jammu Kashmir, New Delhi has been given a tight security on the Independence Day, as PM Modi addresses the masses at Red Fort. All necessary teams have been called and there is strict vigil at the venue.
