Jakarta- World No.2 Saina Nehwal with her sensational performance made it to the World Badminton Championship women’s singles final on Saturday.

Nehwal defeated unseeded the Indonesian Lindaweni Fanetri in women’s singles semi-final with straight sets 21-17, 21-17 at Istora Senayan indoor sporting arena in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Lindaweni Fanetri was struggling due to a knee injury, but still managed to give a competitive fight to the Indian shuttler, as the match lasted for an hour and 12 minutes.

Indian badminton ace Saina Nehwal made her experience count in the semi-final round, and entered into her maiden World Badminton Championship finals.

The second seeded Hyderabadi became the first Indian to enter the finals at the sport’s premier tournament and also assure herself of at least a bronze medal.

The Indian shuttler will now take on defending champion and top-seed Spaniard Carolina Marin in the crowning clash.
