Jakarta- World No.2 Saina Nehwal with her sensational performance made it to the World Badminton Championship womenâ€™s singles final on Saturday.
Nehwal defeated unseeded the Indonesian Lindaweni Fanetri in womenâ€™s singles semi-final with straight sets 21-17, 21-17 at Istora Senayan indoor sporting arena in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Lindaweni Fanetri was struggling due to a knee injury, but still managed to give a competitive fight to the Indian shuttler, as the match lasted for an hour and 12 minutes.
Indian badminton ace Saina Nehwal made her experience count in the semi-final round, and entered into her maiden World Badminton Championship finals.
The second seeded Hyderabadi became the first Indian to enter the finals at the sportâ€™s premier tournament and also assure herself of at least a bronze medal.
The Indian shuttler will now take on defending champion and top-seed Spaniard Carolina Marin in the crowning clash.
