Indian women’s singles badminton champion Saina Nehwal regained her top spot in the latest rankings of the BWF (Badminton World Federation) released on 20 August, Thursday.

On Last Sunday’s thriller we saw, Saina losing to her competitor and defending champion Carolina Marin of Spain in the final encounter of women’s singles World Badminton Championships.

Carolina Marin beat Indian shuttler with two straight set win, 21-16 and 21-19 in Jakarta.

Even though Saina settle with the Runner Up title, she dethroned Carolina in the latest rankings of the BWF.

Indian badminton star also created history by becoming the first Indian to reach the finals of the World Championship.
