It is announced that men’s and women’s team from the wrestling federation of India (WFI) will conduct their preparation for the world championship in Las Vegas from August 26th to September 6th. As the World Championship commences from 7th September to 12th in the same city.

Bhushan (president of the WFI) stated that “I am sure this tour will be an added advantage for our wrestlers who have been working hard in training camp since Nov 2014.” He also said that “this tour will be an ideal opportunity for our wrestlers to get international exposure and get acclimatized to local conditions ahead of world championship.”

“Considering the importance of world championships which is also the first qualifying event for 2016 Rio Olympics, we have scheduled this training tour with the aim to prepare our wrestlers in a better way and win more Olympic quotas,” he added.

Yogeshwar Dutt who is an Olympic Bronze Medalist will lead the men’s team and Geeta Phogat from Haryana a bronze medal winner from the world championship in 2012 would lead the women’s team.

FREE STYLE: - Amit Kumar (57kg), Yogesh Dutt (65kg), Arun (70kg).

GRECO ROMAN: - Ravinder Singh [5kg], Deepak (66kg), M.Rafique (71kg) and many others.

Some names from the women’s team who would represent India are Geeta Phogat(58kg), Babita[53kg], Lalita(55kg).

And the supporting staff members from men’s and women’s team are Kuldeep Singh(coach), Chandervijya Singh(coach),Brajesh (phsio), Krishna Kumar(masseur), A.N. Yadav(coach), Krishna Arya(coach).
