According to the sources, one army Jawan was injured in a small arm fire by Pakistani troops in Poonch in the latest ceasefire violation on a day when the DG-level talks which were held in Delhi to de-escalate the borders tensions.

Jammu-based defense spokesman Lt Col Manish Mehta stated, Pakistani’s troops resorted to the unprovoked ceasefire violation along the LOC in the forward areas of Krishna Ghati sectors.

He also said, the Indian troops retaliated appropriatelyto the ceasefire violations which took place at 1700 hours, in which one soldier was injured in small arm fire from forward posts of Pakistan.

According to the police officials, the injured soldier was identified as Lance Naik Bhipinder Singh, was evacuated and shifted to an army hospital, where his condition is stated to be critical.

It was found that the Pakistani troops last night resorted to unprovoked firing in Bhimber Gali sector of the district, for forcing Indian troops to retaliate.

Pakistan has already violated the ceasefire 11 times in September this year.
