BlackBerry probably had no choice but to open in the direction of Android, and now the Canadian phone producer has actually confirmed what seemed impossible for many years: a smartphone with a different mobile operating system, and more specifically that of Google. The device is called Priv and will be launched later this year in the market.

The announcement carried out in the BlackBerry's quarterly results press release that confirm the numerous leaks, which were floating on the Internet from several months.

"Today, I am confirming our plans to launch Priv, an Android device named after BlackBerry's heritage and core mission of protecting our customers' privacy. Priv combines the best of BlackBerry security and productivity with the expansive mobile application ecosystem available on the Android platform." Said Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer John Chen.

Still, the Canadian company has not given any technical details about the device. Based on reports to the Priv we should assume that it will have a curved screen after Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge model, a typical BlackBerry (Slider) keyboard and an 18-megapixel camera. As a processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 to be installed, the leaks also suggest the display of 5.5 inches.
