There were rumors floating about the launch date of Microsoft Office 2016 from few weeks, but it's now officially confirmed. As the Redmond company, Microsoft announced recently that the new versions of the Office package will be offered from September 22, 2015.

In an official blog post Julia White from the Office team said, "You may have heard the rumors, but today I’m happy to confirm that Office 2016 will be broadly available starting on September 22nd."

Along with the launching date for the Office 2016, White also announced an extension of the model for the delivery of Office 2016 which is similar to Windows 10.

As in recent years, the so-called "Current Branch" has brought up-to-date features which mean that a user will always have the most latest Office apps and capabilities.

Based on the feedback of customers Microsoft has introduced a new option called "Current Branch for Business" with the launch of Office 2016 application. This new option is designed for corporate clients, where a more cautious approach is being implemented to the introduction of updates and new versions - so updates will be released only after extensive testing, a few months later its release.

Three times a year cumulative feature updates thereby provided as security updates which are still available on a monthly basis. The first build of the so-called "Current Branch for Business" update model is, according to White will deliver in February 2016. It is the final version of identical Office 2016, which is offered from 22 September for private customers.
