Nine years after a series of bomb blast, the MCOCA court awarded death penalty to five out of 12, and remaining awarded with life imprisonment.

On September 11, Yatin D Shinde (MCOCA Judge) found all the 12 men guilty of their role in the 7/11 Mumbai serial blasts.

The 11 July 2006 Mumbai train bombings killed 209 people and over 700 left injured.

In total seven bomb blasts took place in over a period of 11 minutes on the Suburban Railway in Mumbai.

The five people who are awarded with death penalties are: Kamal A. Ansari, 37, Ehtesham Siddiqui, 30, Faisal Attaur Rehman Sheikh, 36, Asif Khan alias Junaid, 38, and Naved Hussain Khan, 30.

The seven people who are awarded with life imprisonment are: Tanvir Ahmed Ansari (37), Mohammad Majid Shafi (32), Shaikh Alam Shaikh (41), Mohd Sajid Ansari (34), Muzzammil Shaikh (27), Soheil Mehmood Shaikh (43) and Zamir Ahmad Shaikh (36).
