Authorities of Himachal Pradesh will be organizing apple festival in Manali and Shimla to boost tourism. The festival is scheduled to be held in September 6-7 at Manali and September 12-13 at Shimla.

Exhibition will be marked with showcasing various species of apples, various food products and dishes made with apples. Another attraction of the festival could be entertainment programs.

Tourism and Civil Aviation department in collaboration with horticulture department has organized the festival. Tourists could enjoy visiting apple fields as per scheduled by tourism department.

Apple is one of the major crops yielding in this area. To promote its market value and to gain attraction of businessman, such kinds of fests are being organized. Himachal Pradesh is termed to be India’s major apple producing region.

Himachal Pradesh is looking forward to yield 37.5 million boxes of apples which earlier yielded only 25 million boxes.

The state economy mainly runs on horticulture, tourism and hydropower.
