New Delhi: From November 20, Minimum Train passenger fare will hike up from Rs.5 to Rs.10. As railways has determined to raise the minimum amount levied on non-suburban services on an average, along with the platform ticket.

Considering limiting the rush on platforms, the rail budget forth put and revised fares from Rs.5 to Rs.10 of this year (current year) in this month of April.

Official from Railway ministry said, "Nevertheless our objective is not actually to control, but as people opts the way, buying the minimum priced single journey second class tickets (Rs.5) instead of platform ticket, so railways had decided to consider this proposal."
