As an initiative to fight against growing pollution, the Delhi government on Friday decided that odd and even number vehicles will run on alternate days in the city along with the vehicles entering in city from other state except CNG based vehicles from January 1.

The decision was made after the meeting with Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. The plan will be implemented to some 90 lakh vehicles registered in Delhi. Along with this plan government decided to shut-down coal based plants of NTPC in Badarpur and even launched web app for people to report about pollution in Delhi.

The idea came to force when Delhi High Court said government to take immediate action for growing air pollution which can cause respiratory illness in Delhi.
