On Monday, Government voices that those cooking gas consumers who earn over Rs.10 lakh per year along with taxable income will not be getting the benefit of subsidy on gas cylinders.

This policy will be applicable from the New Year, and will be effective by, "start up of self-declaration", said by an official from petrolatum ministry.

There were around 16.35 crore cooking gas cylinder consumers in India, out of which 57.5 lakh had willfully given up their subsidy.
