With an aim to curb the air pollution in the central Chinese city of Zhengzhou the authorities have planned that there to ban all the new high pollution projects in 2016.

According to the Ministry of Environmental Protection, Zhengzhou the capital of Henan Province was the fifth most polluted city among the 74 major cities nationwide.

Due to increasing complaints of air pollution and mostly heavy smog, authorities would be taking this step more seriously which would help in reducing it.

Liu Junjie Deputy Director of the city's environmental protection bureau says that the makers of steel, cement, plate glass, electrolytic aluminum and non ferrous metals should be banned whereas the local authorities have planned to renovate coal-fired power plants and heating boilers to reduce emissions, added Liu.
